About Me

Hi there! I’m Sara. The one and only mama behind the scenes at Mama Bear’s Clay Creations. I’d like to take an opportunity to introduce myself to all of you.

I’m the wife to a wonderfully supportive man. I’m the Mama Bear to the best two bear cubs that ever existed; a fiery little girl and a go with the flow little boy. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them, hence the “Mama Bear” in the company name.

Believe it or not, this isn’t my fulltime gig. I’m both the Document Control Manager and Materials Manager for a small innovative medical device manufacturing company. They specialize in fracture repair with a completely new method for bone stabilization.

I’m an all around outdoorsy person. My horse lives at home with us on our property “out here” in Foster, RI. In our younger years, we competed in the Eastern and Midwestern states barrel racing. I love hiking, gardening and just being out in the sunshine. I’m a lover of all music but country music in particular.

I’m a craft hoarder. Daddy Bear will tell you that for sure! You name it, I’ve dabbled in it. Scrapbooking, greeting card making, soap making, loom knitting… oh dear.

I started making polymer clay earrings while the youngest bear cub was nursing. I was awake around the clock; morning, noon and night. I thought while I had all this new found ”me” time, that I needed to find something quiet that I could enjoy while everyone else was sleeping. After purchasing a few pair of polymer clay earrings from a local small business, I thought it was something I could get into. After creating and creating and creating, Daddy Bear joked that I had more earrings than one person could possibly need. I took the hint that either I needed to stop, or ramp up and sell… and well, three years later, look where we are!
